Ruben Amorim, who the day before had refused the status of “king” of the League Cup, will miss the final of the competition for the first time in his coaching career, after Sporting’s defeat against Sp. Braga (1-0).
The Leonine coach was present in the decisive game in the last four editions, the first of which was still with Sp. Braga. On the benches, he won the competition on three occasions and, in addition, this was only Amorim’s second defeat as a coach in the League Cup, in a total of 18 games – the last defeat was in last season’s final.
